ELIZA HOXHA VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR 2013

ElizaEliza Hoxha is an Architect by profession. Eliza is the director of the NGO “Urbaniak.” She also currently works as a Professor’s Assistant in the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Prishtina University. She graduated in 2002 from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Prishtina University. Her postgraduate degree is from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Catholic University of Leuven) in Belgium. Eliza’s contribution with Hope Fellowship Program has been mainly her engagement in Good Governance Committee. Her main focus was in publishing the manual “Women & Governance” by writing an article for the manual “Women and the City”. LizaShe also contributed with the organizing event for promoting and publishing the manual. Hope Fellowships Program wants to express the gratitude on how trustworthy she is in every project she takes.

Hope Fellowship was established by the National Albanian American Council (NAAC) and is funded by USAID to strengthen the role of women in policy and decision-making in the Balkans. The program operates in Kosovo, empowering women leaders to create collaborative, sustainable, positive change in government, civil society, and business that strengthen the democratic process and promotes prosperity for all peoples in the country. NAAC’s aim is to contribute to the development of the Balkans by offering concrete support in the form of educational opportunities and tools to foster democratic participation.
